How AI cutout works — and why it stays private

After you pick an image, the tool loads an AI image-segmentation model right inside your browser (downloaded once on first use, then cached), detects the foreground subject and makes the background pixels transparent, exporting a PNG with an alpha channel. Everything runs locally — your image is never uploaded to any server. You can also drop the cutout onto a solid white, black, blue, red or green background before exporting.

• The AI model (a few tens of MB) downloads once on first use, then is cached for offline reuse in the same browser.

FAQ

Does it upload my image to a server?

No. The AI model runs inside your browser and the image stays local — nothing is uploaded, and it is cleared when you close the page.

Why is the first run a bit slow?

The first use downloads the AI segmentation model (a few tens of MB) once; it is then cached by your browser, so later runs are fast and can even work offline.

The cutout edges are not clean — what can I do?

Use images with a clear subject and simple background; fine hair and transparent objects are hard for any AI cutout — try a higher-contrast photo.

Can I export with a white or blue background?

Yes. After the cutout, pick transparent, white, black, blue, red or green and download to export a PNG with that background.
